Weatherby 300 WSM vs HP Deskjet 3550 (part 2)
Weatherby 300 WSM vs HP Deskjet 3550. Photograph at 300 feet. This fucking printer was always shit since I bought it. Now the dumb printer will have ...
My 2003 4.3 Chevy S-10 is qualify with a 4L60E transmission. I know what that means, 4= 4 forward speeds, L= longitudily mounted (rear wheel urge), 60= strength rating and E= electronically computer controlled. NOW... here's my question, what does that translate to in terms of how much HP and torque it can sue? i have seen conversion kits to upgrade it from a 4L60E to a 4L80E. What is the difference between the 60 and the 80? I'm trying to determine whether or not I want to overhaul my current tranny with a shift kit OR just swap it out with an already upgraded model. If I choose to rebuild it, how much can i expect to pay for the labor implicated? Parts excluded.
The 4L60E can comfortably accomodate 450 - 500HP without failing. This is of course considering you don't romp your vehicle every certainty you get. It will handle about the same in torque.
The 4L80 is designed for 4x4 vehicles, it's geared a bit differently to accomodate the needs of a heavier drivetrain, car, etc. It would not be necessary for your application unless you're planning on jacking the vehicle up and converting it to a 4x4 system.
As for rebuilding the unit you can expect to pay $500 - $700 attendant on where you live. This is the cost for a complete rebuild (parts included) if you bring them the transmission and reinstall it yourself. The 4L60E is a great undersized number, it's been a rock solid part of the GM line-up for years. The 700R4 may be a bit better suited (virtually the same) for your application attendant on what type of motor you intend to run.
Hope this helps!
In stock form they are not that tough, they normally last about 120k miles in the common pick up with the 300HP V8, sometimes more, sometimes less. However they can be built to handle lots of HP, there are tons of parts available to upgrade them. It is a better option then the 4L80E, the 4L80E is tougher but is also weights twice as much and is made for towing and such, if you are using this vehicle for performance driving you are much better to build up the 4L60E. As for the get, I can't quote you exactly because I live in Canada and also not sure what performance parts you will have put in it, here it cost around $1800 to rebuild on to prosaic condition but I think US prices are less. Plan on spending around 2k on it I would say. Also the 700 is the non electronic version to the 4L60E and so it won't hook up to you trucks electronics, it uses a divergent linkage to shift, really no advantage to it over the 4L60E.
P.S. They use the 4L60E in 4X4 applications as well, the 4L80E is mostly used in 3/4 and 1tons and on Diesels. Also I would recommend you put an extraneous transmission cooler on your truck, it will save years off you tranny. hp deskjet 3930 trouble shooting | |
